Our Church Weekend Away in September is going to be an exciting time of refreshing as we spend a few days away from the hustle and bustle of Aylesbury basking in Gods presence, being reinvigorated, feeding on His word, and relaxing together as friends in the glorious venue of Red Hill retreat centre just outside Stratford-upon-Avon.
This page will give you most of the detail you require prior to, and for booking the weekend. We will be producing more details in the next month and will put them up here as and when they come.
WHAT IS IT?
Our Church Family Weekend Away is one of the highlights for life in CoB. We want every member to come to this beautiful setting and spend time with us. We’ll be getting to know each other better, worshipping and listening to some great speakers, learning more about God’s word, hanging out in the grounds, going for walks or just chilling with old and new friends. There will be fun-filled group activities for all ages and lots of opportunities to relax and share some free time together. Whether you are brand new to the church or a longstanding member, we want you to feel most welcome and that this event is for you!
Ian and Erika Biscoe originally started out pioneering a church very similar in make-up to CoB, on a new housing development in Upper Heyford back in the 2000’s. After this they were called to take on the leadership of Emmanuel Church, Bicester; and whilst there have recently planted a new worshipping community in the new Eco-Town. Erika is an ordained pioneer minister and has a ministry to local secondary schools, called ‘Cherish’. They will be helping lead us into what God has in store for us over our weekend.
WHO ARE OUR WEEKEND SPEAKERS?
WHERE IS IT?
We are heading to the beautiful 65 acre estate of Red Hill Christian Centre (click on the hyperlink for more details), Snitterfield, Stratford upon Avon, Warwickshire, CV37 0PQ (about an hour/50 miles from Aylesbury)
We will have the whole centre to ourselves for the weekend. The large field is setup ready for tents and caravans with electric hookups and luxurious new shower and toilet facilities. If you really, really don’t feel up for camping then there is a Holiday Inn Express (click on the hyperlink for more details) which you can book yourself into at Warwick (5miles away). We would encourage you to book rooms there early though, to avoid disappointment!
The large redeveloped barn will provide a central gathering space for our meetings, activities and an endless supply of tea and coffee!
We have spaces for Children and youth to receive age-appropriate teaching and activities. We will also be catered for in the dining area where our meals will be provided for us all.

HOW MUCH WILL IT COST ME?
We want as many of us to be able to come as possible so have worked hard to make sure the weekend is affordable and we don’t want finance to be a barrier for anyone to attend. If you would like to come, but would struggle to pay, or need to pay in instalments, then please speak with Gareth or our church treasurer Chris Farrant
HOW DO I GO AHEAD AND BOOK?
To book your tickets, fill in the preliminary booking form below saying who is coming and their ticket type (pre-school, child, teen or Adult). Also say whether you are camping (on-site price) or off-site at the Holiday Inn hotel (you will have to book and pay additionally for any hotel rooms yourself).
We need to start to make arrangements for numbers so we would really appreciate it if you could pay a deposit of £20 per person of who is coming ASAP then this will hold your space open for you. We would like all attendees to have completed final payment though by the end of July if that is possible please. We are also happy if you would like to pay in instalments, please speak to Gareth or Chris Farrant (our treasurer) about what works best for you.
The best way to pay for the weekend is directly via electronic bank transfer as there are no additional charges to pay for this. CoB Bank details for this are here:
