Children at Church on Berryfields

Working together to equip and raise God Connected Children

Our overall aim is to provide children with a reality of God’s presence and love and to enable them to access Him for themselves so that they can grow in a 2-way relationship that will last a lifetime.

Meet our Children and Family's Worker:

Hi, I’m Gemma Moncada a former Primary School Teacher, wife of Alejandro and mum of a lovely (yet challenging at times) toddler. As the Children and Family’s Worker it is my joy to support children with their faith and to support parents in all that they do with their children at home. I also love meeting new families and discovering how as a church we can support them and our local community in all that goes on in Berryfields. If you ever have any questions about supporting your children, our church services, need help with something more practical or just fancy a natter and a cup of tea then do contact me on children@churchonberryfields.org and I’d love to see how as a church we can help.

SERVING CHILDREN AND FAMILIES ON SUNDAYS:

Toddler/Creche Areas in all services

An area for Babies and Toddlers to play and explore faith in an age appropriate way.

Cafe Church (every 1st Sunday)

Explore faith in a cafe like setting with all-age worship, discussions, crafts and interactive prayer.

CoB Kids (every 2nd Sunday)

A chance for children aged 2-11 to spend time with God and explore the Bible together. As well as discovering and developing their gifts as they share testimonies (stories of their relationship with God), pray for one another and add things they learn/discover to their journals.

Inter-generational Church (every 3rd Sunday)

A chance to be family together with all ages exploring God's word and learning from one another in different ways through our play, create, discussion and quiet zones.

Come and Share (every 4th Sunday)

Come and worship, listen to a story, share a meal together (usually brunch) and hear what God is doing in each of our lives. Children are given a chance to draw/write about things they have learnt/experienced in their journals and are encouraged to share these with the youth and adults.

CoB KIDS SOCIALS

(first Saturday of each month)

A chance for children to share life together, build friendships and support one another. Our next social should be held as soon as COVID19 crisis is over.

SUPPORTING PARENTS AND OUR COMMUNITY

We are passionate about supporting Parents in their roles and are always here with ideas for supporting Faith at Home (click link for some of these) or just a friendly chat as and when they are needed. Our Coffee Stop also provides a space for parents to meet and support one another.

IF AT THIS TIME AS A FAMILY YOU ARE IN NEED OF ANYTHING (SPIRITUAL/PRACTICAL) PLEASE DO NOT HESITATE TO CONTACT US AND WE WILL SEE WHAT WE CAN DO TO HELP!

We also have links with the local primary schools and aim to support them in all they do within our community.

UPCOMING EVENTS

Due to COVID19 and not being able to meet in person we are hoping to create and produce some videos or to run some sort of virtual conference type session with teaching and ministry for children and their families so watch this space.

For now here is a link to some ideas for doing Faith at Home.

An example of using play to tell stories and connect with God. My daughter was sat playing with her Happy Land so I took the opportunity to tell the story of the 'Lost Sheep', explain it to her briefly and then chat to God.

Photos of craft ideas/activities that we will add to as and when we do them.
